Nachos have got to be up there with the best student sharing foods ever or ya know, you can scoff them by yourself too. We don’t judge.
We love a good bowl of those crunchy delights but the usual cheese, salsa, and jalapenos can be a tad boring, especially if you are making them for a big group of people.
Here are 5 topping ideas to impress your pals…
– Wild Mushroom & Gryère Cheese
Fry around 5 cups of sliced mushrooms in butter and garlic until they start to go golden.
Add a pinch of salt and pepper, 1 tablespoon of chives, 1/4 cup of white wine and 1/4 cup of cream.
Simmer until reduced.
Spoon the mixture over your nachos of choice, sprinkle over Gryère cheese and bake until melted.
– The Best Damn Vegan Nachos
This recipe requires you to make vegan queso so do that first with THIS RECIPE.
Once your queso is good to go you can use THIS recipe from minimalist baker using all simple plant-based ingredients.
– Cheeseburger Nachos
Fry off 1/4 pound of mince with finely chopped onions. Drain away any juices and add 1/2 teaspoon of paprika. Fry for a couple of minutes until the meat and onions are cooked through.
Top the nachos with the meat mixture and grated cheddar cheese and bake until the cheese has melted.
Top with finely sliced red onion, sliced pickles, shredded lettuce and ketchup.
This recipe is made by layering BBQ Jackfruit, black beans, chopped tomatoes, spring onions, jalapenos and cashew cheese sauce onto your nachos of choice.
Baked them topped with avocado and fresh herbs.
– Breakfast Nachos
Top your nachos with grated cheddar, crumbled crispy bacon, beans and crack however many eggs you would like on top and bake until the whites have set. Usually around 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven and top with sliced spring onion and salsa.

Millstone is a brilliant place to live, Ive just book for my 3rd year. The staff are kind and caring. I have love living at Millstone as it has given me independence and a bigger family.
Living at The Junxion has been a very homely experience for me, as from moving in on my first year of university I was a little nervous about living on my own so far away from my home in Liverpool; but that all change once I moved into my new room, as the buildings interior design gives off such a relaxing vibe that will allow you to study in peace. Although the staff in the building where so very comforting to speak to and will offer guidance on pretty much anything, as they are always there to help. Other than that I would highly recommend The Junxion to anyone as I am currently a second year living with my friend at The Junxion and I couldn’t feel more at home.
I moved to Mayfair Court 3 years ago and we love it here. My apartment is spacious and enlightened by large windows facing Wilmslow road. Commons, including a flourishing inner garden are well kept. Staff are friendly and always there to help, and the community is diverse. Location is very convenient. There’s a bus stop at the foot of the building, a supermarket across the street, Bodey Medical Centre behind the supermarket, and plenty of restaurants and pubs around. I'm happy to call this place our home while in Manchester.
For a very spacious space with great amenities, the price is very mucb affordable. Good views and great support staff to help out at anytime of the day.
Searched for loads of student accommodation before I found this gem amongst the rest. Really nice sizeable apartments in a great student busy location. Would highly recommend Mezzino.
Highly recommend Mezzino Student living, it’s furnished to a high standard and is in the heart of the student area. Has very helpful staff and it’s well run in the office.
