Pride Month 2026: UK Pride Events Students Can Attend

Published: 19/06/2026

Pride Month is one of the most vibrant times of year across the UK, with plenty of cities hosting festivals, parades, live performances and events celebrating LGBTQ+ communities.

For students, Pride can be a chance to explore a new city, meet people, support friends, and experience events built around inclusion, creativity and community.

There are a lot of student-friendly events happening across the country this summer. Here are some of the biggest Pride celebrations to keep on your radar, coming to a city near you!

Coventry Pride 2026

For students based in Coventry, this year’s event is shaping up to be one of the city’s biggest celebrations yet.

Dates: 27 – 28 June 2026
Location: FarGo Village
Cost: Free to attend

Visitors can expect:
Live performances
Community stalls
Workshops and panel discussions
Art exhibitions
Pride March events through the city centre

One of the reasons Coventry Pride works particularly well for students is its accessible city centre location.

Leeds Pride 2026 – 20th Anniversary Celebration

Students in Leeds have a major celebration to look forward to this year.

Dates: 18 – 19 July 2026

Location: Leeds city centre, including Lower Briggate and the parade route from Leeds Town Hall.

This year’s event marks the 20th anniversary of Leeds Pride, and for the first time the festival is expanding into a full two-day event!

The main parade, family areas, community stalls and headline performances will take place across the weekend.

Manchester Pride

Manchester remains one of the UK’s most iconic Pride destinations.

While full festival details are still being released, early announcements for Manchester Village Pride 2026 have started to circulate – make sure you keep an eye out for more info!

Organisers have highlighted plans for:

Community stages
Charity and support stalls
Quiet spaces
Discussion and wellbeing areas
Pride parade activities

Manchester already has a large LGBTQ+ community, including the dedicated Gay Village area, and well-established Pride celebrations.

York Pride

Students in York can look forward to one of Yorkshire’s most community-driven Pride celebrations.

York Pride is known for:

Inclusive community events
Live music and performances
Charity and support organisations
Family-friendly spaces
A welcoming atmosphere for first-time attendees

York’s smaller size makes Pride feel easy to explore, particularly for students attending for the first time.

Attending Your First Event?

Never been to Pride before? You’re not alone.

Many students attend their first Pride event during university, often with friends, flatmates or societies.

A few tips:

Wear comfortable clothing and footwear
Bring water if you’re attending outdoor events
Explore charity and community stalls, not just the main stage
Attend with friends if it helps you feel more comfortable
Remember that allies are welcome too

Across social media, many first-time attendees describe Pride as one of the most welcoming events they’ve experienced, but be sure to let who you’re going with know if you’re feeling anxious.

More Than Just a Celebration

While Pride is known for its colourful festivals and performances, it’s also a reminder of the importance of visibility, inclusion and community.

University is often a time when people meet others from different backgrounds, explore new perspectives and find communities where they feel comfortable being themselves, make the most of it while you’re still here!
