Mezzino Limited is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data.
This Recruitment Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use and protect personal data about individuals who apply for roles with us. This includes applicants, prospective candidates, agency candidates, interns, temporary workers and individuals who are considered for employment or engagement with Mezzino.
We are required under UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, to inform you about how we use your personal data. The ICO expects employers and recruiters to provide clear privacy information to candidates during recruitment and selection processes.

During recruitment, we may collect and process the following types of personal data:
- Name, address, email address and telephone number
- CV, covering letter and application form details
- Employment history, qualifications and professional memberships
- Skills, experience and interview notes
- Right to work information
- References and referee details
- Salary expectations and notice period
- Recruitment test or assessment results, where applicable
- Information from recruitment agencies, job boards or professional platforms
- Equality, diversity and inclusion monitoring information, where provided
- Health or disability information where adjustments are required
- Criminal conviction information, where relevant and legally permitted
- Copies of identification documents where required for right to work checks
Some of this information may include special category data, such as health information or equality monitoring information, which requires additional protection under UK GDPR

We may process special category data, such as health information or disability information, where necessary to:

Equality monitoring data will be used for statistical purposes only and, where possible, will be anonymised.
- Criminal conviction data
We will only process criminal conviction information where it is relevant to the role and where we are legally permitted to do so.
If criminal record checks are required, this will be explained to you during the recruitment process.

We may share your personal data with:
- Internal hiring managers and HR colleagues
- Recruitment agencies
- Background screening providers
- Occupational health providers, where applicable
- Referees
- IT and HR system providers
- Payroll or onboarding providers, if you are appointed
- Clients or partner organisations where relevant to the role
- Legal or professional advisers
- Regulatory bodies or government authorities where required by law
We will only share your personal data where necessary and appropriate.
- International transfers
If we need to transfer your personal data outside the UK, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards.
- How long we keep your data
If your application is unsuccessful, we will normally retain your recruitment data for 6 months after the recruitment process ends, unless you agree that we can keep your details for future opportunities.
If you are successful, relevant recruitment data will become part of your employee record and will be handled in accordance with our Employee Privacy Notice.
- Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Restrict processing
- Object to processing
- Request data portability
- Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your data has been handled.
